Sheetal Thakkar

Sheetal is an investment professional with over 15 years of experience in private equity, leveraged finance, and corporate finance across the US and Emerging Markets. She started in investment banking at UBS before moving to private equity with Odyssey Investment Partners and The Blackstone Group, focusing on mid-market buyouts and mezzanine financings. Sheetal then moved to India in 2008 to help establish the inaugural Growth Equity PE Fund set up by Tata Capital, part of a franchise which eventually grew to an AUM of over USD 1 billion across strategies. In this role, she was involved in all aspects of fund development, including fundraising, portfolio management, and investment evaluation.

She also helped shape strategic communications at DSP Investment Managers (BlackRock‘s former JV partner in India). Most recently, she helped expand the Global Sustainability Practice at Russell Reynolds.Currently, Sheetal is building a mid-market, India-centric private equity fund focused on advancing climate-forward investments, alongside her partners from Tata Capital PE. She serves on the Allocator Collective Steering Committee, where she co-leads efforts to enhance collaboration with organizations to advance diversity in asset management. Sheetal holds an MBA from The Wharton School and a BS from NYU’s Stern School of Business.
