Malcolm Robinson

BLPA

Mr. Robinson has 36 years of experience investing in multiple asset classes in the USA and Asia.
Currently, he is an active investor in early stage startups as General Partner of Black Opus
Special Situations Group and is the Executive Director of the Black LP Association (BLPA).
Mr. Robinson was a General Partner at Avenue Capital Group where he launched its Asian
investment management business in 1999 and grew it to $5+ billion, opening 9 offices
throughout Asia. The fund was the largest alternative asset manager in Asia ex-Japan.
Previously, he was based in Hong Kong and was the CIO for Richmont-Parley Investment
Company and before that was the second highest ranking investment professional at the Asia
Hedge Fund, an affiliate of Tiger Management Corporation. At the time, the Asia Hedge Fund
was the largest hedge fund in Asia ex-Japan. He also worked at Prudential for 7 years, making
private equity and private credit investments.

Mr. Robinson graduated from Florida A&M University and received an M.B.A. from Wharton.
