DAMI
Robert Raben is a nationally recognized leader in public policy, advocacy, and financial equity, serving as the Executive Director of the Diverse Asset Managers Initiative (DAMI). Through DAMI, Robert leads a strategic, coordinated effort to change the culture of the financial services industry, ensuring that high-performing diverse-owned asset management firms are recognized, valued, and seamlessly integrated into institutional investment strategies.
Under his leadership, DAMI works to increase both the number of diverse asset managers and the assets under their management, with a focus on public, corporate, faith-based, and labor union pension funds, as well as foundation and university endowments. By engaging institutional investors, investment consultants, and key decision-makers, DAMI raises awareness about the benefits and opportunities of investing with diverse-owned firms while advocating for systemic policy changes to remove structural barriers.
Beyond his work with DAMI, Robert is the founder and president of Raben, a public affairs firm dedicated to advancing justice and equity. His career spans decades as an attorney, senior Hill staffer, and former Assistant Attorney General. A Miami native, he holds degrees from the Wharton School and NYU Law and continues to drive transformative change across multiple sectors.
