Genie Cesar Fabian

ILPA

Genie Cesar-Fabian is General Counsel and Chief Operating Officer for the Institutional
Limited Partners Association (ILPA).

Genie previously practiced law as both outside and in-house counsel in the financial
services industry for over 20 years. She later joined a middle market private equity firm
as its first General Counsel/CCO, achieving partnership and designated Head of ESG &
Sustainability. Genie next joined a tech-enabled asset manager as its first General
Counsel. She then returned to private equity, heading to the LP side of the industry at
ILPA.

In addition to her legal and financial services work, Genie has served as a subject
matter author for Thomson Reuters and as Strategic Advisor to BlueFlame AI.
She is a founding member of both the St. John’s School of Law Alumnae Leadership
Council and its OUTLaws & Allies Alumni Association. Genie has been recognized by
N.O.W. as a “Woman of Power and Influence,” by Mergers & Acquisitions as a “PE
Innovator in ESG” and a “Leader in DEI,” and by Crain’s NY Business as a “Notable
LGBTQ Leader & Executive.”

Genie holds a B.A. in Politics from NYU and a J.D. from St. John’s University School of
Law.
