Machel is the Founder, CEO and Chief Investment Officer at Metis Global Partners, where she leads the firm’s business strategy efforts as well as the investment team responsible for researching and managing the firm’s portfolio strategies. Metis is a $5 billion global equity solutions provider offering active and customized beta strategies to institutional investors. On the alpha seeking side of the equity spectrum, Metis adds value in undiscovered markets including small and microcap global and emerging market securities. The Metis ‘Guided Beta’ offerings provide targeted custom beta solutions to sophisticated clients desiring a high touch provider partnership.
Machel’s investment career spans over 33 years, including over a decade with Brandes Investment Partners where she led the quantitative investment team that designed and implemented the investment process used by Metis today. Prior experience includes Lord Abbett, as an Equity Analyst to international and domestic portfolios, as well as institutional investment consulting roles at LCG Associates and Watson Wyatt. Her investment industry contributions include a range of board roles and associations including Past President and Board Director of the CFA Society of San Diego, The Brandes Center, WIIIN, and IDAC.
