Albourne
Albourne was established in 1994 and remains an independently owned, non-discretionary specialist consultant focused on alternative investments. With over $750bn of assets under advisement, Albourne's aim is to enable its clients to be the best investors they can be. Core beliefs include Albourne's duty to its clients to advocate for improved alignment between LPs and GPs through the adoption of best practices, to encourage and promote diversity across the industry.
Albourne collaborates with industry bodies, investors and fund managers to promote the use of standardized employment practice questionnaires and demographic data templates in support of best practice adoption. To this end, Albourne has collaborated with AIMA and ILPA, in the development of their respective templates, which managers complete as part of Albourne’s due diligence process. To date, AIMA and ILPA questionnaires have been completed by firms managing over 6000 hedge fund or private market fund series.
John Claisse joined Albourne in 1996 and became CEO in 2015. John is an equity partner and member of Albourne’s Executive Committee, Corporate Planning Council, and also leads the firm’s DEIB Committee & Council. John has been the Executive Sponsor of Albourne Pride, Albourne’s LGBTQ+ Employee Resource Group, since its founding in 2021. John serves on the Governing Board of The Robert Toigo Foundation, the Advisory Board of the University of Sussex Business School, and as a Trustee of the Standards Board of Alternative Investments (SBAI).
