Michele Chow-Tai is the Managing Director, Business Development at Fairview
Capital, responsible for strategic planning and client strategies in private equity
and venture capital. She identifies new business opportunities and expands the
firm’s global presence.
Previously, Michele was a Relationship Manager at TIAA, leading client
management and product strategies for complex clients. She spent 22 years at
HSBC in various roles, including Vice President and Relationship Manager for
Global Reserve Managers, where she engaged with central banks and sovereign
wealth funds. She also distributed private markets and alternative investment
solutions and served as Assistant Director for HSBC Financial Products Institute.
Earlier in her career, she worked as a bank and finance analyst at Moody's
Investor Services.
Michele is an Independent Director at 1847 Holdings LLC (NYSE American:
EFSH) and has held leadership positions on several boards, including the CUNY
York College Foundation and NASP-NY. She contributes to the Corporate
Advisory Committee of the National Council of Teachers’ Retirement and served
as a member of the Advisory Committee of LeaderXXchange, promoting diversity
and sustainability in governance. Additionally, she is involved with Women of
Color in Investments (WOCII).
Michele holds a B.S. from CUNY – York College, has credentials in business
administration and finance, and is pursuing a JD at Mitchell Hamline School of
Law. She has received numerous awards, including The US President's
Volunteer Service Award in 2020 and the AFUW’s Vice Chancellor’s
Achievement Award in 2024.
